Meta Business Verification — Requirements & Process

1. Why Verification Is Required

Meta Business Verification confirms your business identity. Without it:

• Your messaging limit stays at 250 conversations/day.
• You cannot apply for the green tick (Official Business Account).
• Template approvals may be slower.
• Some features (like higher API rate limits) are unavailable.

With verification, your limit increases to 1,000 → 10,000 → 100,000 conversations/day based on quality.

2. Requirements

• A Meta Business Suite account (business.facebook.com).
• Two-factor authentication enabled on your personal Facebook account.
• Your business’s legal name, address, and phone number.
• An official business document (see accepted documents below).
• A business website, Facebook page, or Instagram account.

3. Step-by-Step Process

1. Log into business.facebook.com.
2. Go to Settings → Business Info → Security Centre.
3. Click “Start Verification”.
4. Enter your legal business name exactly as it appears on official documents.
5. Enter your business address and phone number.
6. Upload a business document (see accepted documents).
7. Choose verification method: email, phone, or domain.
8. Complete verification by entering the code or adding the DNS record.
9. Wait for Meta review.

4. Accepted Documents

Meta accepts one of the following business documents:

• Business registration certificate — Certificate of Incorporation, Trade Register extract, etc.
• Tax document — Tax ID certificate, VAT registration, GST certificate.
• Utility bill — in the business name and at the registered address (recent, within 3 months).
• Bank statement — official bank letter or statement header showing business name (recent).

5. Timeline

Most businesses are verified within 2-3 business days. Complex cases or unclear documents may take longer.

6. Troubleshooting

• Rejected for name mismatch — ensure the legal name in Meta exactly matches the document. Even minor differences (“Ltd” vs “Limited”) can cause rejection.
• Document not accepted — try a different document type. Utility bills must be recent (within 3 months).
• Verification email not received — check spam/junk folders. Try the phone or domain verification method instead.
• Stuck in “Pending” — if it has been more than 7 days, contact Meta support through Business Help Centre.
• Two-factor auth issues — 2FA must be enabled on the personal Facebook account that owns the Business account.
