Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy was last updated on April 16, 2026. By subscribing to any paid plan on App-ening, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation and refund policy, including the 180-day money-back guarantee and its applicable deductions.

1. Overview

App-ening (operated by app-ening.com) provides subscription-based access to our WhatsApp Business Platform. This policy covers our 180-day money-back guarantee, cancellation terms, and refund procedures for all paid plans.

2. Subscription Plans

App-ening offers the following paid subscription plans:

  • Starter ($29/month), Pro ($99/month), Business ($470/month), and higher tiers
  • All plans are billed annually via Razorpay (India) or Stripe (international)
  • Current pricing is available at https://www.app-ening.com/pricing.html

3. 180-Day Money-Back Guarantee

All paid plans come with a 180-day money-back guarantee. If App-ening is not the right fit for your business, you may request a refund within 180 days of your initial subscription payment for a genuine reason. Refunds are subject to the deductions described in Section 4.

3.1 Eligibility

To be eligible for a refund under the 180-day money-back guarantee, all of the following must be true:

  • Your refund request is made within 180 calendar days of your first subscription payment date
  • You submit the request via email to support@app-ening.com with the subject line "Refund Request — [Your Business Name]"
  • You provide a genuine reason for the refund (e.g., platform did not meet your business needs, unable to complete setup, switching providers)
  • Your account has not been terminated for Terms of Service violations, abuse, spam, or fraud

3.2 How to Request a Refund

  1. Send an email to support@app-ening.com within 180 days of your first payment
  2. Include: your account email, business name, payment date, and reason for the refund
  3. Our team will review your request and respond within 5 business days
  4. If approved, the refund (minus applicable deductions) will be processed within 14 business days to your original payment method

3.3 What Is NOT Covered

  • Refund requests made after 180 days from the initial payment date
  • Subscription renewals after the first billing cycle (only the initial subscription payment is eligible)
  • Accounts terminated for policy violations, spam, abuse, or fraudulent activity
  • Wallet top-ups, messaging credits, or per-message charges (these are consumed at time of use)
  • Add-on purchases (API add-ons, additional users, voice minutes)

4. Refund Deductions

Approved refunds are subject to the following deductions. These represent costs that App-ening has already incurred on your behalf and cannot recover:

Deduction Category Description How It Is Calculated
Applicable Taxes (GST/VAT) Government taxes collected at the time of payment have already been remitted to tax authorities and cannot be recovered by App-ening. CGST + SGST (9% + 9% for Tamil Nadu) or IGST (18% for other Indian states). International payments: applicable local VAT/tax if any.
WhatsApp Conversation Costs Per-message and per-conversation charges from Meta/Gupshup are pass-through costs paid to third parties at the time of sending. These are non-recoverable. Total messaging charges incurred during your subscription period, as recorded in your billing dashboard.
Support & Onboarding Time If dedicated setup assistance, onboarding calls, custom template design, WhatsApp Business API onboarding help, or data migration support was provided by our team, the time spent is deducted. $25 USD per hour of dedicated support time, as logged in our support system. Standard self-service support (help articles, chat queries) is not deducted.
Payment Gateway Processing Fees Razorpay/Stripe charge transaction processing fees on each payment. These fees are non-refundable by the payment processor. Approximately 2–3% of the original payment amount (varies by payment method and region).
Third-Party Integration Costs If your account consumed third-party resources with pass-through costs (voice calling minutes via Exotel, API credits, Gupshup WABA provisioning fees), these are non-recoverable. Actual third-party charges incurred, as shown in your billing dashboard or invoices.
Promotional Discounts & Credits If a coupon code, promotional discount, or credit was applied to your subscription, only the amount you actually paid (after discount) is eligible for refund. Refund base = amount actually charged to your payment method, not the list price.

4.1 Refund Calculation Example

Example: You purchased the Pro plan (annual) for ₹88,500 (incl. 18% GST). During your subscription, you used ₹3,200 in WhatsApp messaging, received 2 hours of dedicated onboarding support, and Razorpay charged 2% processing fees.

Calculation:

Subscription paid: ₹88,500
− GST already remitted: ₹13,500 (18%)
− WhatsApp messaging costs: ₹3,200
− Onboarding support (2 hrs × ~₹2,100): ₹4,200
− Payment processing fee (~2%): ₹1,770
= Refund amount: ₹65,830

5. Plan Cancellation (Without Refund)

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Platform (Settings > Billing) or by contacting support@app-ening.com
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to paid features until the billing period expires
  • No prorated credits are provided for cancellations outside the 180-day money-back guarantee window
  • After your billing period ends, your account will be suspended (read-only mode — your data is preserved)
  • You are responsible for canceling before your next billing cycle to avoid being charged for the next period
  • If you cancel and later resubscribe, you will be charged at the then-current pricing

6. Plan Changes

  • Upgrades: Take effect immediately. You will be charged the prorated difference for the remainder of your billing period.
  • Downgrades: Take effect at the end of your current billing period. No refund for the difference.
  • You can change plans at any time through Platform settings.

7. Late Payment and Grace Period

  • If payment fails, you will receive notification via email, WhatsApp, and in-app alerts
  • A grace period may be provided at our sole discretion to update your payment method. The duration and availability of any grace period is determined by us and may change without notice.
  • During the grace period, some features may be restricted
  • After grace period expiration, your account will be suspended (read-only)
  • Fees charged before suspension are not eligible for refund outside the 180-day guarantee window

8. Account Termination

  • If we terminate your account due to Terms of Service violations, no refund will be provided regardless of the 180-day guarantee
  • If you delete your account, data will be retained for 30 days (for recovery), then permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • You may request a data export before account deletion via Settings > Data Export

9. Chargebacks and Disputes

  • Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us at support@app-ening.com may result in immediate account suspension
  • We encourage you to use the 180-day money-back guarantee process instead of filing chargebacks
  • We reserve the right to dispute unauthorized chargebacks and will provide transaction evidence to the payment processor
  • If a chargeback is filed after a refund has already been processed, we reserve the right to recover the duplicate amount

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, APP-ENING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, LOSSES, OR EXPENSES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO BILLING, PAYMENT PROCESSING, SUBSCRIPTION CHANGES, OR ACCOUNT TERMINATION. ALL BILLING AND PAYMENT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY BILLING-RELATED CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE LESSER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) INR 10,000.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless App-ening, its owners, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Disputes with payment processors or financial institutions regarding charges you authorized
  • Chargebacks filed without first attempting to resolve the issue directly with us or using the money-back guarantee process
  • Your failure to cancel your subscription before a billing cycle renewal
  • Any claim that our billing practices were unfair, deceptive, or unauthorized, where such charges were made in accordance with these Terms

This indemnification obligation survives account termination.
