Template Approval Tips

  1. Choose the right category. Marketing templates have stricter review. If your message is transactional (order updates, appointment reminders), use Utility -- it costs less and gets approved faster.
  2. Provide example values. Meta reviewers need to see what the filled-in template looks like. Always provide realistic examples (e.g., "John" for {{1}}, "March 15" for date variables).
  3. Avoid prohibited content. Templates promoting alcohol, gambling, adult content, or weapons will be rejected. Avoid misleading claims and excessive capitalisation.
  4. Include opt-out for marketing. Every marketing template should include "Reply STOP to opt out" or similar language. This is required by Meta and by Indian data protection regulations.
  5. Keep it concise. Templates that are too long get lower engagement. Aim for 3-5 lines of text plus a clear CTA.
